GETTING HERE
We are only a two hour flight from London. Ryanair operates 2 daily return flights from both Stansted and Dublin to Stockholm Västerås Airport, which is our local airport and is just over an hour from where we live. BA and SAS fly to Arlanda, Stockholm International Airport, which is accessible by rail and bus and is a little over two hours by car. For those with more time and are more adventurous, one can drive here. It is a fantastic trip. We have done it 3 times. Taking the overnight ferry from Harwich to Esbjerg on the west coast of Denmark, you drive to Copenhagen and then cross the incredible Öresund Fixed Link, a combined 16-km (10-mile) bridge and tunnel that links Denmark to Sweden. From there you head north through some of the most beautiful countryside you are likely to see anywhere. If there is no rush an overnight break is worthwhile. You would arrive in Dalarna about mid-day the following day.
